Help Us Stretch Every Drop

Water is a precious resource that pets, plants, and people all need to survive. Without water, we wouldn't be able to raise cattle, grow rice, manufacture paint—not to mention wash our clothes, cook our food, and enjoy a summer swim at the local pool. While many of these uses are out of our hands, we can all do our part to help stretch every drop we use!

What to Know About Water Efficiency

Being water efficient is important as our community grows and our water needs increase. The average person in Cityville uses about 3,000 gallons of water a month, and the average household of four uses 12,000 gallons a month! Check your recent water bills to see how much you use in your own household. Interested in reducing your number? Try adopting a few of these water-saving tips.

Inside your home

  1. Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.
  2. Wait for full loads before running the washing machine or dishwasher.
  3. Use low-flow shower heads, faucets, and toilets.
  4. Fix leaks as soon as possible.

Outside your home

  1. Don’t water on off days, during the afternoon, or after sufficient rain.
  2. Catch rain for outdoor watering with a rain barrel or buckets.
  3. Fix leaks as soon as possible.
