Budget for FY 2025

Small glass full of coins with leaves sprouting from it

The Cityville budget affects us all, everyday. Whenever you run a load of laundry, walk your pet at the park, do your homework at the library, or drive down a street, you are seeing the Cityville budget at work. It's time to begin working on the budget for Fiscal Year 2025, and we want to hear from you.

What to Know About the Budget

Every June, Cityville starts on the annual budget for the next fiscal year. A fiscal year (FY) is the twelve-month period that a city uses for budgeting and accounting—it can be different than the normal calendar year.

  • Our FY 2025 starts on October 1, 2024, and ends on September 30, 2025.
  • You can review the FY 2024 budget in the documents on this page to see what Cityville completed last year.

Overall, the budget items cover:

  • Spending - Capital and Operating expenditure - This is what it costs to deliver the services to Cityville; and
  • Revenue - Rates and other income, and any proposed borrowing needed to cover operating expenses

Please note that Cityville also has longer-term projects that are not easily changed. For example, the Cityville Park Renewal and the Cityville Flood Infrastructure Project, or projects where what is delivered and the cost is still being assessed. Spending on these projects (or capital projects) is required to ensure Council delivers these vital projects to the community.

  • I missed the opportunity to take your survey, but I really care about how my tax dollars are spent. Is it too late to give you feedback?
